who

For over 20 years, Muelle has been writing and performing their brand of music throughout the country. Are they a jam band?...maybe. Certainly, the musicianship and improvisational nature of the songs and live performances would say yes.

But, with their 2005 release of “Falling Anyway” the band showed what their fans have always known...that at the core they write great songs. Ranging from the live favorite “Torn Down” which is, let’s be honest, probably best described as a country song with a crazy piano solo to Colors which is an introspection on loneliness featuring a tour de force trumpet vs. piano battle. “Five” is an introspective love song and “Searching” is a quiet imagination of an Iraqi soldier.

So there’s definitely more going on than just a “jam band” but they have never shied away from the term and, if you see the band live, you know why. Every show is different...as it should be.

Despite continuing to stay active playing live, the band has waited 15 years for their next studio project. “Must Look Insane” dives even deeper into the songwriting. This album ponders the world we live in now and reminisces about times before.

It’s a logical project for a band of optimists living in a world that sometimes seeks to divide and feels like it wants to push you down. It’s never bad to look back but this is a band clearly looking forward.
